A commonplace book

Things I find interesting, and a note on why.

Links, notes, and the occasional essay. Mostly agents and the software around them; sometimes math, geometry, and fiction.

  1. The Edge of the Map

A plan of tasks assumes the route is already known, which is why it collapses on contact. Matt Pocock's wayfinder plans in questions instead. I installed it this morning — this is the review before the first run.

  2. Making Failure Legible

Agents fail in the middle, quietly, and in ways that look like success from the outside. A working method for making that visible before it reaches a customer.

I'm Santiago Sainz. I build agentic systems that handle real workloads, recover from auth failures, and stay inspectable under pressure. Production AI is mostly about making failure legible, and that thread runs through most of what ends up here.

I also write Liminal Void, a Spanish literary series: the same questions about systems and trust, told as fiction. Episode 01, Este asunto entre nosotros, is in final review.
